We're excited to share additional updates to the Veritone Attribute application, which bring our GA4 Supportability enhancements to a close. Read on below for an overview:
Triage a GA4 Connection for UA+GA4 Advertisers
Sometimes when advertisers connect their Google Analytics items to Attribute, the incorrect Account and Property are selected. When this occurs the best path forward is to remove this bad connection from Attribute, then have the advertiser reconnect. With multi-connection UA+GA4 advertisers though, the historical workflow to triage and complete this process is not viable. As a result, we have created a new workflow for UA+GA4 advertisers to remove the bad GA4 connection and resend an invite to connect. See below for an overview:
- Navigate to the Manage Connections page
- Identify the target UA+GA4 advertiser in the Connected Advertiser section either by using the search bar in the top-right or by scanning through the pages of results
- Click Resend GA4 Invite to Connect
- Type DELETE into the text box and click DELETE button
- When the Resend Invite to Connect GA4 pop-up appears, click SEND INVITE if the email recipient is the same or edit the email recipient and then click SEND INVITE
- When your advertiser restarts and completes the connection process, their connection will be updated

Auto-Apply Transition Date for UA+GA4 Advertisers
For current UA advertisers when a GA4 connection is added, the Transition Date will always be auto-applied at 7/1/22. This ensures that the Attribute Transition Date aligns with Google's official GA4 cutover date. In addition, this behavior allows the advertiser to have backfilled GA4 data even if the GA4 connection date is after 7/1/23*.
*Please note: GA4 data will only backfill if there was an existing and active GA4 instance running on the advertiser website, although not connected to Attribute.
New User Sessions in Web Log Uploads
As we've continued to expand the data and analytics available in Attribute, we have updated the capabilities of our Uploader Tool to match! To ensure users can include our new data point, New User Sessions, in web log uploads, this has been added as an optional field.
