Article Details

aiWARE Hub is the primary, self-service location for creating and managing aiWARE instances, including both Veritone-managed and self-managed deployments. Create and manage Hub organizations, invite new users to create Hub accounts, and provision aiWARE packages – such as applications and engines – that organizations will have access to.

[Note] For a list of features that are still in beta, see the Hub Known Issues page. For an overview of the differences between Veritone's existing SaaS instances and new instances created via Hub, see Differences in Hub SaaS Instances.

Terminology

This documentation uses the following terminology.

TermDefinition
InstanceAn aiWARE instance refers to either a single node running aiWARE, or, in multi-node installations, to the entire set of nodes running any parts of an aiWARE stack.
NodeAny computer resource (CPU or vCPU) that is running running a part of aiWARE and therefore is part of an aiWARE instance.
OrganizationAn entity that centrally controls access to different resources and assets. A Hub organization controls Hub user access to administrative functions for aiWARE instances. An aiWARE organization controls access to resources for AI processing, such as media files or other data assets, and processing tools, including engines and applications.
PackageA bundle of one or more aiWARE resources. Packages are used to create custom AI solutions. By combining interrelated resources (such as an engine and its required schema, or a group of translation engines for multiple languages) into a single package, they also make it easier to distribute resources for use by other organizations.
Run modeFor existing aiWARE instances that use Docker containers, run modes are a programming label used to designate a service to be run on an aiWARE node. New aiWARE instances are deployed using Kubernetes and do not use run modes.
Server rolesFor existing aiWARE instances that use Docker containers, nodes can be running more than one run mode, so this is a programming label that encapsulates all the run modes that are running on a node. New aiWARE instances are deployed using Kubernetes and do not use run modes.
