Set up a new Google Analytics GA4 account

This topic covers setting up a new Google Analytics (GA4) account for connection to Veritone Attribute.

Steps

1. Open the following link to view Google's support article Set up Analytics for a website and/or app (external link)
2. Complete the first two steps in Google's support article: 
   1. Create an Analytics account
   2. Create a new Google Analytics 4 property
3. When you reach the step to Add a data stream, follow the instructions for web 
4. When you reach the step to Set up data collection for websites, follow the instructions for the option that applies to your site's configuration:
   • Add the tag to a website builder or CMS-hosted website (e.g., HubSpot, Shopify, etc.)  This provides instructions for sites created with services such as Squarespace, WordPress, etc.
   • Add the Google tag directly to your web pages  (Recommended) Veritone Attribute functions best when the Google tag is added directly to the site's source code following this method.
   • Add your tag using Google Tag Manager. Google Tag Manager (GTM) is not fully supported by Veritone Attribute for GA4 properties at this time. Using GTM for a GA4 property may result in broken functionality and missing web data in Veritone Attribute. We recommend adding the Google tag directly to the web page instead (see the recommended option above). 

Once complete, you should start to see active data collection for your website within the next 24 hours.
