Verify that your system meets the following requirements for a minimal aiWARE installation.
IP addresses
172.0.0.0/8 are not supported. Use 10.0.0.0/8 or 192.168.0.0/16 instead.
Memory requirements
- Minimum: 2 CPUs with 16GB of RAM to run 1 engine at a time. In AWS, this is usually a m4.xlarge or m5.xlarge.
- Optimal: 4 CPUs with 16GB of RAM
Storage requirements
- Minimum: 150 GB
- Optimal: 500 GB
Operating systems
- RHEL 7
- Ubuntu 18.04 (security maintenance only)
- Ubuntu 20.04
- Ubuntu 22.04 (recommended)
- Mac OS X 11.6 for development/test only
Network requirements
- All nodes in an aiWARE instance must be able to talk to each other. See Ports and Protocols for more information.
- For installation on a transient network, use a virtual network interface because the IP address set for key components, such as the PostgreSQL database, might change over time.
Container runtime requirements
- For RHEL, install a Mirantis Container Runtime (MCR). Go to the Mirantis website, and install it from a package Install Mirantis Container Runtime for Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- For Ubuntu, install the latest version of Docker Engine. Go to the Docker website, and then follow the instructions Install Docker engine on Ubuntu.
Tip: To install Docker from scratch, you can use the convenience script.
[Warn] Leave Docker's config as the default, Socket. Do not change it to TCP. No external service needs to access to that docker engine. The aiware-agent communicates over the socket.
